“Thanks so much for helping me to lose the weight that my body didn’t want to relinquish for all of three years! Your advice on eating more protein allowed me to eat as much as I wanted without the awful craving for chocolate and crisps that had haunted me since I first gave up smoking! I don’t get those 3pm cravings anymore which has transformed my health and waistline.”.

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the application of health science and nutrition to help people maximise their health potential using food and supplements.  Nutritional Therapy works with the belief that the illnesses that people present with are symptoms of an imbalance in the body and that the key to successful treatment is to identify those imbalances and treat the person accordingly. For example, if someone has high cholesterol it could be due to eating a lot of high fat foods or being too stressed or needing to detox their liver or lacking in Vitamin C or a combination of all of the above. The job of a Nutritional Therapist is to identify what’s causing the illness in that patient and devise a treatment protocol for them accordingly. Catherine’s aim as a Nutritional Therapist (or Nutritionist as it is sometimes known) at Nutritionworks is to help clients feel and look better by making the right food choices and also to give them the tools to help make healthy choices in the future. As part of the consultation, she takes people to the health food shop and supermarket to talk them through the foods there. She also provides tasty, easy to follow recipes incorporating the foods they need to regain good health.
